I purposely set my alarm to an odd number like, 4:43 or 4:47. For some weird reason I would never set it to 4:45 because that just seems to planned and I’d probably hit the snooze button and end up being late. Weird.
A morning person I am not! What the hell am I doing awake at 4:43 to run anyway!? Well I was invited to go with a couple girlfriends I hadn’t seen in a while and they are pretty annoyingly persuasive(as only real runner girlfriends ought to be). This was only the second time I met them at 5:00 in the morning and I was super freaked to oversleep….so I pretty much didn’t sleep much anticipating wake up call. I made it on time and went them, it was so great to be done by 6:00 am! My daughter was sick yesterday so I was unable to run and I was slated to do speed work for the first time in this Eugene training cycle. Really bummed to miss a workout so I thought it wise to go at 5:00 this morning just in case she still wasn’t feeling better. But holy crap it was dark in some spots. I was so freaked to fall and loose a few teeth. Didn’t happen. Got home safe and sound and 5 miles under the belt.
Do you ever wake up early to run? Ever not sleep because your worried of over sleeping?
